Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • know differences between different types of protective rights,
  • get a rough overview of the scope of protection of patents
  • investigate, whether patent protection may be obtained for an invention
  • comprehend and analyze situations of patent conflicts

The lecturer is Austrian and European patent Attorney and lay judge at the higher regional court Vienna. He holds a doctoral degree in electrical engineering (Dr. techn) and a master's degree in Law (Mag. iur).
