The objective is to provide an overview on future perspectives of renewable energy technologies, focussing on economic and energy policy aspects. Knowledge will be provided on state of the art, future options and assessment of renewable energy technologies, focussing on power supply and heating and cooling. Moreover, the role of biomass will be discussed.
This lecture provides an overview on future perspectives of renewable energy (RE) technologies, focussing on economic and policy aspects. The lecture will be held in blocks, whereby each block is dedicated to a certain topical focus:
- State of the art, options and assessment of renewable energy technologies (1), (Block 1)
- State of the art, options and assessment of renewable energy technologies (2), (Block 2)
- Renewable energy technologies for electricity generation - costs and future perspectives, (Block 3)
- Renewable energy technologies for heating and cooling, (Block 4)
- The role of energy policy - support schemes for RE systems, (Block 5)
- Biomass - a key option within all energy sectors (Block 6)
- Summary and reflection (Block 7)
