As the basis of this seminar serves a series of invited overview presentations at one of the conferences in the field of THz electronics and photonics. These presentations should give an overview of several main research directions in this field. Each of the presentations will be extensively discussed in the classroom and the technical details touched in the presentations will be clarified.
Each of approximately 6-10 units/seminars of the course consists of the following items:
- The topic/title of the next seminar will be announced in advance (in TUWEL),
- ~2-10 page abstract (a short paper) of a conference presentation on the topic will be provided (in TUWEL) as a homework to get a general idea on the contents of the presentation,
- During the seminar, we will watch a video recording of the presentation (~20 min.) in the classroom,
- We will discuss the technical details, not-clear places, and different questions related to the contents of the presentation afterwards (~1 h.),
- As an additional exercise, students can look through references mentioned in the presentation and its abstract.
Tentative list of topics:
- Generation of THz radiation with p-i-n photodiodes,
- THz parametric optical oscillators,
