This introductory course in strategic management of technology and innovation provides an overview of key theoretical concepts, introduces a series of strategic frameworks, and examines the managerial challenges of generating and responding to technological change. Topics such as innovation patterns, technology cycles, standard battles, innovation strategies, technological capabilities, incumbent inertia, and technology partnering \ collaborative strategies are covered. The course uses a combination of lectures, independent readings, group presentations, and case analyses and discussions. The lectures and readings are intended to provide a solid understanding of the key concepts and theories, while the case studies allow the participant to integrate and apply the acquired knowledge and frameworks in a practical business context.
