Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • conceptualize management control systems via MGT activity diagrams
  • use ontological and linguistic meta-modeling techniques for conceptual modeling
  • model maturity assessment and monitoring systems in the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) context and to understand their IT implementation
  • model accounting and management control systems in the OntoUML-langauge
  • apply meta-modeling techniques for establishing a domain specific language (DSL) in the Plan-Do-Check-Act management context
  • use predictive analytics methods for sales forecasting in the software package R
  • model and develop a flexible Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) budgeting tool in R
  • model and develop a cybernetic budget management tool in R
