Aim of course

Performing and judging for design calculations of pressure vessels. The theoretical basic knowledge enables to use enhanced calculation methods and to deal with non standard cases which are not covered by the established design rules.

Subject of course

Basics of design calculations:

Design geometry, material parameters, safety margins,
Limit load; Shakedown; Fatigue due to cyclic loading; Stability (buckling);

Classical Design Check (Design-by-Formulae):

Curved shells, nozzles, openings and nozzles, non-pressure loads and supports, flange connections, flat shells, heat exchangers (Tube sheets)

Design-by-Analysis ¿ Direct Method and Stress Categorisation.

Koordination Vorlesung Apparatebau (329.024) mit der dazugehörigen Konstruktionsübung (307.468)

Wie im Vorjahr wird die Vorlesung so auf die Konstruktionsübung abgestimmt, sodass ein Absolvieren der Konstruktionsübung im gleichen Semester wie die Vorlesung möglich ist. Es wird empfohlen, die Konstruktionsübung entweder parallel zur Vorlesung im gleichen Semester (WS) oder ein Semester später im Sommersemester zu absolvieren.
