## Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to explicate the fundamentals in theory of plasticity in metals and the methods used in modeling of elastic-plastic structures; moreover, they are able to mathematically formulate the basic elastoplastic problems in case of small deformations and solve them by using analytical and/or numerical methods in different engineering applications.

## Subject of course

Tensor notation and fundamentals of linear elasticity theory; criteria for yielding in metals; classical theory of plasticity; plastic stress-strain relations; plastic work; flow rules and work hardening; hardening models; incremental and deformation theories; application to plane elastoplastic problems (analytical and computational methods).
