Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to perform research on a practical topic, write a technical report and present the main achievements in front of an audience, as it is the case at a scientific conference.

Subject of course

Parts of an industrical or fundamental research project can be performed, e.g., design of an electromagnetic or piezoelectric positioning actuator, measurement setups for the characterization of mechanical, acoustic, magnetic or piezoelectric porperties of materials, design and characterisation of acoustic absorbers, numerical simulation of mechatronic systems, etc.

Teaching methods

The student will be assisted by a PhD student.

The student has to write a technical report of approximately 15 pages and present the main achievements in a talk of about 20 minutes.
