Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the state of art for a technical topic within acoustics, summarise it in a research report and present the topic in front of experts as it is the case on a scientific conference.

Subject of course

The course has three main topics. First of all, the students will learn how to perform research on a special topic using state of the art literature (mainly journal publications). Second, the students will be trained how to write technical articles, and third how to do scientific presentations.

Possible Topics:

  • Noise location (microphone array)
  • Aeroacoustic wind tunnels
  • Sound Design in automotive industry
  • Acoustics of gear boxes
  • Passive noise protection
  • Psychoacoustics

Teaching methods

The course is based on scientific discussions.
