Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently work on a problem in the field of technical dynamics and to prepare and document and present the discovered solutions accordingly.

Subject of course

Assignements based on actual research problems are given to the students to be worked on. Some examples of systems to be investigated are: vibration analysis of a given structure (rotor-bearing-system, mechanisms, machine frame, machine foundations, drive trains, mechatronic systems). The analysis can require to solve the eigenvalue problem, to calculate the forced response , to investigate structural modifications and/or to carry out studies in the time and the frequency domain. Students will use variouis tools like FE-programs, rotor dynamic software, multibody-dynamics software and simulation languages.
