325.029 Process Measurement Canceled

2022W, VU, 2.0h, 3.0EC

Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: VU Lecture and Exercise
  • Format: Hybrid

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyse measurement signals, to digitize them and use PC measurement systems. In addition, students have the knowledge to use optical and electro-chemical sensor systems to measure chemical quantities (concentration, in special pH and oxygen content in gases and fluids).

Subject of course

Knowledge about basic requirements for the measuring components (e.g. electromagnetic compatibility, robustness), definitions, measuring equipments (probes, amplifiers, etc.), analysis of measuring signals, signal digitization and measuring techniques using personal computers. Use of optical and electrochemical measurement systems for the determination of chemical quantities (concentration measurements, particularly pH, and oxygen concentration in gaseous and liquid media).

Teaching methods

The course will be interactive and the knowledge will be communicated by multimedia-based presentation using practical examples. Thereby, a high priority is placed on the physical understanding.
