Learning outcomes

 After successful completion of the course, students are able to numerically simulate real fluid mechanical problems as well as to give an overview of the methods used in private and educational facilities.

Subject of course

Methods for the treatment of the convection-diffusion equation, projection methods for incompressible and compressible Navier-Stokes equations, treatment of complex geometries, introduction to turbulence modelling.

Teaching methods

Explanation of the methods. Demonstration of hands-on examples. Team projects.
