Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the physics of blood flow through the heart, arteries and veins. In addition, students learn what is the role of blood flow in health and disease.

Blood rheology

Blood flow in the cardiac chambers

Blood flow stresses in cardiovacular heath and disease

Teaching methods

All lectures are interactive. Theoretical explanations are accompanied by practical examples. In the exercise part of the course, a deeper knowledge of the theory is acquired by solving practical exercises and the students are supported by suitable activities, e.g.  homework, assignments, etc.
