formulate a fluid mechanical problem dimensionless
discern which type of asymptotic expansion (regular, matched asymptotic expansion, method of multiple scales, method of strained coordnates) is appropriate
exand the solution of a fluid mechanical problem asymptotically with respect to a small or large dimensionless parameter
