  • to explain what is the dimension of a physical quantity
  • to explain the prerequsites to compare physical quantities
  • to deduce the "Bridgman axiom" from the metric conventions
  • to formulate and apply the Pi-theorem
  • to perform a dimensional analysis of a physical problem
  • to find similarity solutions of the first and second kind and interpret them as intermediate asymptotics
