Aim of course

Introduction into fundamental concepts of theoretical fluid dynamics in the context of high Reynolds number flows.

Subject of course

Prandtl's boundary layer concept, boundary layer parameters, second order boundary layer theory, matched asymptotic expansions, local (similarity) solutions of the boundary layer equations, introduction to interaction theory (triple deck) for the examples of the trailing edge problem and boundary layer separation.
