After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • apply the laminate calculation program elamX2 (https://tu-dresden.de/ing/maschinenwesen/ilr/lft/elamx2/elamx)
  • use the finite element program Hyperworks (https://altairhyperworks.com) for composite specific numerical analyses
  • compare numerical results of simple problems with analytical solutions or solutions of the program elamX²
  • recognize composite specific sources of error in numerical analysis
  • critical questioning the manufacturability of numerically calculated composite structures.
