Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • apply the solution strategies for nonlinear FE-problems taught in the lecture to concrete problems
  • check if the obtained results are meaningful and if necessary to modify the solution strategy accordingly
  • document the solution procedure and the obtained results in form of a protocol

Teaching methods

  • hand-out of the examples at the beginning of the semester
  • students can focus on the specialization area of their choice
  • self-dependent treatment of the examples using a commercial FE-code
  • time slots for question hours will be announced in TUWEL

Examination modalities

Students have to write and hand-in a protocol (via TUWEL) that has to contain a discussion about the chosen solution strategies, issues that occurred during the simulations, and the obtained results.

NOTE: There are two deadlines for the winter semester:

  1. Monday 22.11.2021, 12:00 -> You will receive the certificat still in December 2021
  2. Friday 25.11.2022, 12:00 -> You will receive the certificate at the end of April 2022

Please note that there are no question hours from December until the end of February.
