compute simple numerical schemes “by hand”
implement simple numerical schemes using python
apply simple numerical schemes to concrete problems
discuss the advantages and disadvantages of simple numerical schemes
discuss the limits of application of simple numerical scheme

basics of numerical arithmetics,
basic methods of numerical linear algebra,
solution methods for nonlinear equations,
approximation of functions,
numerical differentiation and integration,
boundary-value problems, initial-value problems eigenvalue problems

Discussion of Examples
Implementation of simple numerical methods using Ipython-notebooks (Python)
Discussion of the implementation of various numerical schemes
Application of numerical schemes to concrete problems
Discussion of advantages and disadvantages of numerical schemes on the basis of simple examples
