Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • understand and apply the aerodynamic and flight physics principles of rotor aircraft.
  • characterise the structural conditions, flight behaviour, performance limits and possible uses of rotor aircraft and other hovering aircraft.

Overview over rotor dynamics and aerodynamics, power requirements; Power plants, power train, controls and fuselages of rotorcraft, rotor systems; stability, flight properties, development tendencies for rotor craft
