Aim of course

Overview of buoyancy and stability of bodies in fluids and basic knowledge of theoretical methods. Overview of propulsion units and of dynamic behavior of ships in a seaway and during manouvers.

Hydrostatics: geometry of ships, lines plans; hydrostatic calculations: stability of intact and damaged ships; strength of ships; hydrodynamics; resistance: contributions to overall resistance; propulsion of ships: propulsion units
