Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the

  • thermodynamics of the engine process
  • physical and chemical basics of combustion and pollutant formation
  • electrochemical processes of a fuel cell

They will have an overview of the available simulation methods.

Subject of course

A fundamental overview of process Analysis is provided. The Content of the lecture is the following:

  4. Species conversion (combustion, catalysis)
  5. Pollutant formation
  6. Species transport, gas exchange
