Aim of course

This exercise is to apply the theory provided in the lecture with the same name. An advanced comprehension of the thermodynamics of the engine process is accomplished by the independent coding of an engine model. In parallel, knowledge of the programming code MATLAB is acquired.

Subject of course

A thermodynamic engine model is developed step-by-step and under guidance using the coding language Matlab. The most important contents are:

- Kinematics crank train

- Caloric mixture properties

- Conservation of energy, equations of state

- Modelling of the Combustion

- Wall heat transfer

- Gas Exchange

- Calculation of the efficiency

At least 3 participants are required!
