Basics for Powertrain of Automotive. Additonally lectures in this module extension to fully understanding of the specific technical field. Starting with enegy conversion for driving and traction forces, lecture details the internal combustion engine, due to the fact it is the core energy converter for time being and short terms.
Alternative powertrains will be presented in LVA "Alternative Powertrains" of this module.
Last chapter of this lecture covers the field of interaction between engine and transmission down to the driving wheels of a vehicle. Gear shifting strategies are a main issue.

Exam questions will not be taken exclusively from the exam questions catalogue, there will be additional questions which will not be disclosed previously.
Written exam on the dates posted in TISS.
Written exams take place once in the month (except in August).
Due to possible lecture room or date changes please watch your TISS-News shortly before the exam date. We do our best to keep the scheduled date. In this sense, we ask for reliable registration and deregistration within the time limit, so that the appointment can take place as announced!
Registrations and deregistrations can be done until Wednesday 12 o`clock before the respective exam date. Exam registrations are only possible after the previous exam date. Deregistrations after the deadline can not be considered.
PLEASE NOTE: Due tot he fact, that the written exams take place parallel, it is not allowed to registrate for more than 1 exam per date!!! Multiple filings will not be tolerated.
Exclusions from exams in accordance with paragraph 18a University Matriculation Law: Non-appearing students missing to deregister in time will be blocked for the next two exams (8 weeks)!
Exam mode: The examination results will be postet until the 2nd Wednesday after the exam date. Students between two examination marks (1 and 2, 4 and 5) will be informed per e-mail and shall have the opportunity to an oral test, usually Fridays two weeks after the written exam date. Non-appearing students receive the worse mark.
