Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to deepen the basic knowledge in the field of the development of complex mechanical engineering structures through the application of new methods, to record special requirements in the field of measurement technology and quality assurance in the construction of complex prototypes and to implement suitable solutions in the long term to apply the presented methods for metrology and quality assurance in practice.

Presentation of complex mechanical engineering and measurement tasks using the example of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN
- Mechanical and metrological solutions for structural monitoring and positioning of detector structures and components in a particle accelerator
- Superconducting magnet construction as an example for challenges in the field of metrology and quality assurance
- Future challenges and approaches to solutions in the design of accelerator physics facilities
