Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
describe the nature of physics, the objectives and employed methods and knowing how to apply them
explicate the meaning and benefits of physical units and how to use them to assess results
encompass and evaluate physical occurrences in terms of quality and quantity using the basic principles of classical physics and formulate statements regarding the procedures
Subject of course
Basic principles of classical physics
Main emphasis: Kinematics, dynamics, conservation of energy, conservation of momentum, Newton's laws, forces, acoustics, geometrical and wave optics, as well as thermodynamics
Prospects of modern physics, statisticial methods, Intenational System of Units, and manufacturing
Teaching methods
Systematic derivation of the theoretical principles in the lectures
Interspersed practical application of the scientific findings to illustrative examples
Related in advance query of students' estimates
Exercises for self-reliant practicing for each lecture section (solution for self- assessment provided in the following week)
