After successful completion of the course, students are able to make logistical analysis and synthesis of complex flexible manufacturing systems and also step by step design of working scenarios and scheduling of flexibel systems.
Design of flexible systems. System components: Stations, Conveyors, Machines, Industrial robots, flexible assembly cells, Pallet system, Material flow, Information flow. Critical operation time. Availability. Graphical presentation of the sequence of assembly operations. Methodology of the design of flexible assembly cells and systems. Scheduling. Optimization strategies. Simulation. Case studies from industry.
