Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to continue the module Multibody Systems. The lecture should allow for a basic knowledge of the content of the lecture given below. Additionally, there is a focus on communication and exemplary practical application of the theoretical basis, which could be helpful for the further course of studies with respect to mechanic and multibody dynamics problems and mathematical modelling.

Subject of course

Kinematics and Dynamics of multibody systems with rigid and flexible bodies. Derivation and transformation of kinematic variables based on generalized coordinates/velocities. Absollute- and relative coordinates. Degrees of freedom. Holonome and non-holonome, scleronome and rheonom systems. Ideal joints and constraints. Principles of mechanics. Systematic formulation of equations of motion obased on d'Alempert's and Jordain's principle with examples. Derivation and application of Gipps-Appell equations. Topology of MBS including Closed-loops systems. Modelling of MBS.

Teaching methods

Presentation of fundamentals and application based on examples.

Die Vergabe der Plätze erfolgt nach der bei den Lehrveranstaltungen VO Mechanik 1 und UE Mechanik 1 sowie VO Mechanik 2 und UE Mechanik 2 nach ECTS gewichteten Gesamtdurchschnittsnote. Die Plätze werden an jene Studierenden vergeben, die die besten Durchschnittsnoten erreicht haben.
