Please sign up for this course (see below) and then use the Link to TUWEL for getting access to the course materials, which are also available in the Secretariat (Mo-Fr: 9-12 and 13-17 o'clock), Getreidemarkt 9, building BE, 4. floor.
Overview on the variety of engineering materials for various industrial applications. The material properties are defined by their composition, processing and shaping techniques.
Systematic of metallic alloys with focus on Al-, Ti-, Ni-alloys and highmelting metals (with a short overview on special steels, Mg-, Cu-, Co-alloys and amorphous metals). Improvement of strength and thermal stability. Microstructure and properties influenced by processing technologies like casting, powder metallurgy, hot forming, and cold forming.
Overview on ceramic materials and hard metals.
Systematic of engineering plastics (high temperature polymers, shape memory polymers, composites).
Written and oral Exam!
Both parts of the exam (written and oral) need to be positive. If the written exam allows for a clear evaluation, the oral part is sometimes not needed.
The exams, written or oral, are based on the script.
Additional information: The correction of your written exam will timely be lined backwards, if you were absent in a previous exam without cancelling your subscription.
Stock).
