Aim of course

Overview of the classical and modern joining technologies, with focus on welding. Knowledge of different welding processes, necessary equipment, applications and risks. Understanding of microstructural processes and mechanisms during welding and consequences for construction and design.

1. Overview: Basic principles of joining technology 2. Welding processes and equipment (with practical demonstration) 3. Materials and materials behaviour during welding 4. Application and quality control

Additional information

Part of the course is an excursion to Fronius Österreich GmbH. Participation at the excursion is mandatory!
