Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: VU Lecture and Exercise
  • Format: Hybrid

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  • apply the theoretical basics of bulk material technology
  • perform simplest bulk material simulations (DEM simulation)
  • apply the knowledge of basic experiments to determine the necessary simulation parameters.

Subject of course

The theoretical basics of bulk material simulation are presented to the students. Furthermore, the determination of relevant bulk material parameters is explained with the help of experimental setups and videos. Another point is the introduction to a bulk material simulation software, with the help of which simple simulations can be carried out independently.

Teaching methods

physical-mathematical models, expperiment, DEM simulation

Mode of examination

Immanent

Additional information

A laptop (with Windows 10/11) is required for the simulation part.
