After successful completion of the course, students are able to plan and evaluate first experiments and also to summarize findings in a brief report! It deals with the implementation of a temperature controller for FZG tests that are used to evaluate the scuffing resistance of lubricants. in the standard test, the operational temperature is in the range of 90 °C. Here, we intend to cool down to 40 °C but also to raise temperature up to 120 °C and to analyse a new kind of ionic liquids as additives in gear lubricants and to test them at different temperatures concerning their tribological behaviour.
