Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

- calculate and design selected machine elements according to standards and design guidelines

- perform design tasks on their own

- to recognize and evaluate pros and cons of machine elements under the relevant aspects of operation and design

Subject of course

Correct design and calculation of the following machine- and design-elements: clutches, belt- and chain drives, gears and gearboxes including DIN3990 (theory and calculations).

Teaching methods

- Lectures about basics and design/calculation tools for the listed content

- Practice and application of the content with examples of machine elements, with guidance by the lecturer.

Written and oral

Lectures will be held in the Lecture room GM1 Audimax (building BA, ground floor).
