Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • discuss the challenges of parametric 3D-CAD modeling
  • differentiate between direct modeling and parametric modeling
  • formulate the requirements for stable sketch geometry
  • classify features for geometry creation in CAD systems
  • outline a methodically correct process for modeling cast parts
  • name the basic functions and requirements for freeform surfaces
  • describe the methodical structure of fiber composite components
  • discuss different requirements for assembly structures
  • reproduce the methodology of positioning parts in assemblies
  • specify the functionalities for the assembly of welded assemblies, tubing assemblies, and harness assemblies
