Aim of course

Introduction into the field of application related to measurement tests of rolling stock and its components. Overview according test methods related to railway systems, explanation of test configuration and application of knowledge on test vehicles within excursions. Interpretation of measurement results of trains and single components including understanding of interaction between passenger, train and environment.

A test run of a specific component will be applied and explained.

ATTENTION: the days mentioned in the calendar may change due to availability of the objects to be visited.

Subject of course

The course will be separated in 2 blocks:

1) Test run

2) Excursion

1) In the test run a model of rolling stock will be apllied in the laboratory. Within the test run the problem, measuring arrangement and results have to be delivered in a written protocol and have to be presented in the group.

2) Participation of railway specific test cycles within excursions. Insight to the complex configuration of measurement equipment and systems as well as interpretation software. Presentation of contents and results in teams of 2-3 students.
