Aim of course

An introduction to a problem solving concept regarding the integration of "environment" into product development will be give in this lecture. Starting form analysis "where is the environmental problem of the product?" to synthesis "how to improve a certain product?" a practical way of doing ECODESIGN will be shown.

Subject of course

For teaching and practical implementation the method ECODESIGN PILOT will be used (www.ecodesign.at/pilot). This tool (on CD-ROM and in the Internet) will be used in case studies to deepen the understanding what is ECODESIGN all about and how to integrate it into the daily life of a designer or engineer in product development.
