Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

calculate rope lines, select a ropeway system adapted to the individual conditions, identify the main components of a ropeway and describe their function, know the function of the most important safety systems and be able to describe their technical implementation. 

Subject of course

Different systems of cableways especially those for passenger transport, steel-wire ropes used for cableways, calculation of longitudinal profiles and strain of ropes, projecting of cableways considering especially those for passenger transport, drive and braking systems, carriers, rope guidance and support, safety devices used for cableways

Teaching methods

Classical presentation with beamer. Partly declarative hand-drawings and sketces on the whiteboard. Discussion with studets is very welcome.
