Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to carry out measurements (such as strain gauge measurement, surface pressure measurement, acceleration measurement) on material handling and conveying systems.

Subject of course

Static and dynamic measurements of components of conveyor systems:

1. Efficiency of a hoist

2. Contact pressure between rope and pulley of a ropeway

3. Stresses in a laminated crane hook

4. Efficiency of a lifting unit

Teaching methods

Execution of laboratory exercises in groups.
