After successful completion of the course, students are able to create technical drawings of general machine components according to the technical drawing standards and rules for production-oriented design.

During some lectures it will be tought, how workshop drawings have to be worked out in two dimensions based on geometry of the threedimensional space and according to standards. During exercise lessons simple workshop drawings have to be worked out, by free hand, with auxiliary tools and by CAD.

Arranging the rules for standard-compliant drawing creation in a short lecture section, creating freehand sketches of machine components as well as CAD drawings (parts and assembly drawings) in the exercise section.

Graduates of an HTL (mechanical engineering or similar orientation) can attend the shortened exercise section, see dates HTL groups. Graduates of an AHS (general high school) have exercise once a week throughout the semester, see dates for AHS groups.

The lecture part for the AHS groups will take place from Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 (10:30 - 12:00) in FH HS 1. The lecture is intended for students who have no previous knowledge (technical drawing and CAD). For graduates of a technical college (specializing in mechanical engineering or similar), a short summary of the lecture content is presented in the exercise section.

AHS groups 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 are only opened when the other AHS groups are full.

HTL groups 3, 6, 7 and 8 are only opened when the other HTL groups are full.

Ongoing assessment, assessment of finished drawings, short examination.

The registration is being handled via the group registration of this lecture.

Lecture notes are available for the price of EUR 12,- in the front of HS FH 1 during the first lecture.

Afterwards the lecture notes are available Tuesday to Thursday 9 am to 12 am at the secretary’s office of the institute E 307, 4th floor, Maschinenbaugebäude Hoftrakt BD, Getreidemarkt 9.
