Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • connect and set up a Programmable Logic Controler PLC
  • write code for data acquisition and process control
  • set up a graphical interface for a test rig
  • program a simple state machine for process automation
  • program a simle PID controller

  • Basics and functions of a PLC
  • Overview over automation topics (from the sensor to the distributed control system, interfaces, bus standards, transmission protocols)
  • Digital signal acquisition (sensors, converters, processing)
  • Control of thermal process variables
  • Sequential control and process automation
  • Safety technology

Additional information

Lunch break is every day from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. . The cafeteria "M-Buffet Zwovierzehn" and the restaurant "Schutzhaus zum Arsenal" is within walking distance, several restaurants at the main train station can be reached by bicycle or car, or bring your own lunch.
