After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • connect and set up a PLC
  • write code for data acquisition and process control
  • set up a graphical interface for a test rig
  • program a simple state machine for process automation
  • program a simle PID controller

  • Overview over automation topics (from the sensor to the distributed control system, interfaces, bus standards, transmission protocols)
  • Digital signal acquisition (sensors, converters, processing)
  • Control of thermal process variables
  • Sequential control and process automation
