Aim of course

After taking this class the student will be capable of

  • connecting and setting up a PLC
  • writing code for data acquisition and process control
  • setting up a graphical interface for a test rig
  • programming a simple state machine for process automation
  • programming a simle PID controller

  • Overview over automation topics (from the sensor to the distributed control system, interfaces, bus standards, transmission protocols)
  • Digital signal acquisition (sensors, converters, processing)
