Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • calculate energy conversions in hydraulic fluid-flow machinery (turbines, pumps, pump turbines) based on velocity triangles
  • design hydraulic machinery and plants in stationary and transient operation

Analytical calculation and design of hydraulic systems and their machines (turbines & pumps).

Teaching methods

In the framework of the lecture, representative exercise examples for the discipline will be solved analytically on the board. In addition, exercises are given for self-study.
