Students will get the ability to apply their fundamentals of thermodynamics, power plant engineering and energy engineering on problems in solar engineering.

The lecture consists of:

• Fundamentals of solar irradiation
• Concentrating and non-concentrating photovoltaic systems
• Concentrating and non-concentrating solar thermal systems with
  • Linear focus and
  • Poit focus and
  • Thermal storage
• Solar chemestry

The course 302.698 VO Introduction to Solar Engineering will no longer be offered.

The course contents will be integrated into the course 302.690 VO Advanced Energy Systems for Power Generation starting in the academic year 2018/19. This course will be given in German.
