Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • to carry out calculations and analyses of hydraulic fluid machines (turbines, pumps, pump turbines)
  • to calculate hydraulic systems independently during transient operation

  • Model laws and key figures
  • Hydraulic design of the individual turbine and pump types
  • Energy turnover and efficiencies
  • Design of hydraulic fluid flow machines
  • Cavitation, operating behaviour and control of turbines and pumps
  • Introduction and deepening of transient processes in hydraulic fluid flow machines and plants
  • Revitalization and modernization of old plants
