Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to investigate and summarise the background of particular numerical methods for fluid flow simulation in turbomachinery based on a literature review. Representative test cases can be found to explain the numerical procedures.

Subject of course

Numerical methods for the simulation of fluid flow in turbomachinery are described and investigated thoroughly for a selected topic. The numerical procedure is described in a review of the literature and explained at the hand of a test case. A report is written and the essentials are shown in a short presentation.
