Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • apply the concept of the thermal calculation to different thermal systems
  • calculate and design furnaces and heat exchangers
  • perorm full-load and off-design calculations for thermal systems and components


Subject of course

Application of the most important design concepts, design of furnaces and heat exchangers. Concepts for calculation at part and full load. Use of commercial software and programs developed at the Institute.
