After successful completion of the course, students are able to distinguish between the the most important methods of dust removal, desulfurization and denitrification of flue gas. Even they are informed about the removal of special compounds like dioxon and furane. Even they know the most important methods of flue gas analysis.
The requirements for flue gas purification of fossile fueled steam boilers, hot water boilers and industrial firing become more and more severe. Therefore, knowledge of the methods and problems of flue gas dust precipitation, desulfurisation and denitrofication is important. Special problems arise with the use of non conventional fuels such as communal waste, sewage slurry and industrial waste. The possible influence of the so called greenhouse gases on the global climate and the influence of the ozone depleting gases on the stratosphere ozone layer is discussed. Measuring principles for fluegas components are presented.
The lecture is given in German language.
1) Presence and collaboration during the lectures
2) Presentation of a basic calculation for a certain system (filter, cyclone, flue gas desulfurization)
3) Written examination
