302.015 Exercises to the lecture "Numerical Methods in Thermal Engineering"

2023S, UE, 2.0h, 2.0EC
TUWEL

Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 2.0
  • Type: UE Exercise
  • Format: Online

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • treat simple thermotechnical problems with numerical methods
  • to describe the processed problems mathematically with the required algebraic and differential equations
  • to transform the differential equations into algebraic equations
  • to solve the problems numerically

Subject of course

With guidance of the lecturer the students can prepare simple problems numerically and develop a computer code (e.g. EXCEL VBA, Mathcad, MATLAB, C++) themselves. The results of the calculation will be discussed in detail.

Teaching methods

  • Development of algorithms
  • Translation of algorithms into computer code
  • Simulation
  • Interpretation of results
