Introduction to the fundamentals of kinematics and kinetics, to basic concepts of stability and special problems in continuum mechanics (buckling of straight bars, equivalent stress and yield criteria)
(Absolute) Kinematics: velocity and acceleration, distribution of velocity and acceleration in a rigid body, plane movement of a rigid body Kinetics: basic laws (principles of impulse and momentum); for plane motion and one-degree-of-freedom systems: kinetics of rigid bodies; work, energy and power; principles of work and energy The one-degree-of-freedom linear oscillator: free and forced vibrations Basic concepts of stability; buckling of straight bars; equivalent stress, yield criteria
The course starts at 03.10.2018 and takes place at Vortmann HS.
Two tests as well as (if necessary) an oral examination at the end of the semester. To take part in the tests, please subscribe to the dated exam at the end of semester.
The student has to be enrolled for at least one of the studies listed below
